F1 fans can look forward to the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023, with the race to be included as one of a record 24 events on the F1 schedule for 2024, according to a press release from F1. Stefano Domenicali, F1’s President and CEO, expressed excitement for the event by stating, “There is huge interest and continued demand for Formula 1, and I believe this calendar strikes the right balance between traditional races and new and existing venues.” On Nov. 16-18, 2023, the event will take place on a 3.8-mile street circuit encircling the Las Vegas Strip. The season will kick-off on March 2 in Bahrain, another new location for F1, and conclude on December 8 in Abu Dhabi.

Workers are laboring on to ready the Las Vegas Strip and close-by roads such as Koval Lane and Harmon and Sands avenues, for their conversion into bends and straightaways for racing. It’s all part of the 24 in ’24 project.

The F1 calendar for 2024 sees some changes in order to “lessen the logistical difficulties and make the season more sustainable,” according to a press release. To that end, the Japanese national Grand Prix is being moved to April, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix is shifting to September, and the Qatar Grand Prix will be the second-last race of the season. Additionally, the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be the first race to not take place on a Sunday since 1985. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are also setting their races on Saturdays in respect to Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of worship. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Grand Prix is returning to the schedule for the first time since 2019. Check out the full F1 2024 calendar:
