The 2020 NFL season is shaping up to be an exciting one, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have taken a big step forward towards contention after signing future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady last month. Their latest move is ensnaring a second legend-in-the-making, tight end Rob Gronkowski, who joins Brady in pursuit of a Super Bowl ring. With this impressive roster, the Buccaneers enter the upcoming season with more hype than any other team in the league.
Tampa Bay odds Brady Gronk
Not many would have expected it but Tom Brady and his highly-respected tight end Rob Gronkowski have reunited in the sunny city of Tampa Bay. On Tuesday, Gronk announced his return from retirement to the Bucs, reaching agreement with the New England Patriots to a fourth-round pick in exchange for the 32-year-old. It was March 2019 when the multiple-time Super Bowl Champion declared he would be stepping away from professional football, but the lure of reuniting with one of his closest friends and his desire to get back on the field have now seen Gronk donning pewter and red colours. “I’m back. I always said when I have that feeling and it feels right, I will be ready to take the field again. And I have that feeling. I’m ready,” Gronkowski declared. With the return of this Hall of Fame duo, sportsbooks and betting sites have been quick to adjust their odds on who will be crowned Super Bowl Champions this year. Tampa Bay’s title chances were already as high as 17/1 prior to the Gronk news. Now, FanDuel has the team at 15/1, Caesars 14/1, DraftKings and FOX Bet 12/1, and Bet MGM the shortest at just 9/1.

Hall of Fame Duo

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are sure to be inducted in the Hall of Fame when they stop playing in the NFL. Both have devoted their entire professional careers to the New England Patriots- Brady for 20 years and Gronk for nine. They have achieved great success together, winning three Super Bowls (’14, ’16, ’18), and adding to Brady’s total of three from earlier in his career (’01, ’03, ’04). Brady holds many NFL records, including the record for most games won by a QB at 219 and most Pro Bowl selections at 14. Gronk is no slouch either, becoming the first tight end in NFL history to lead the league in receiving touchdowns in a single season with 17 in 2011, as well as most receptions by a TE in Super Bowl history with 23. If all goes as planned, these two will share the honour of being immortalized in Canton.

Season Odds

This NFL season is sure to be strange with the legendary duo Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski suiting up in their new Tampa Bay Buccaneers uniforms. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL is contemplating shortening their usual 17-week regular season and playing in near-empty stadiums. Kicking off September 10, the updated NFL schedule is set to be announced May 9. Depending on how the season progresses, Tom Brady may have a chance at MVP, with his odds at 26/1. However, Patrick Mahomes of the Super Bowl winning Kansas City Chiefs is the favorite, at 19/5 (+380), followed by 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens at 6/1.
