Rogers Sportsnet to drop SNBets brand

According to Jonah Sigel, sports media analyst and host of the Gaming News Canada Show, Rogers Sportsnet appears to be readying to discontinue its Canadian sports betting brand SNBets. In his report via YYZ Sports Media, Sigel claimed that SUBets will take a ‘phase-out’ approach and will eventually come to a conclusion ‘within three weeks’. SNBets first appeared on the scene less than a year ago, but these plans could mark the end for the brand. Sigel went on to note that Rogers has been coming under pressure and bringing in a new Head of Media, known for cutting costs, likely contributed to SNBets’ unfortunate demise.

I initially believed the entire betting platform was going to be terminated, only to find out that the SNBets name would be eliminated instead. Sigel further spoke on the matter, seeing the effort to grab some gold in the hills fully appreciated, but mentioned that it was a mistake to initiate something such as this without an educated and successful execution. Unfortunately, this has been an error, but SNBets still remains active through their social media. Nonetheless, it’ll be interesting to see how many followers the brand can still gain despite the brand confusion and bad understanding of what SNBets was and what they have to offer.

With high-profile advertisers providing ample competition for attention, confusion was bound to occur. The company seemed to have a strong desire to take on too much, creating a situation in which they couldn’t seem to get anything done correctly. Now, they are tidying up and doing their best to serve their partners and sponsors. Hopefully, they can get on track in the near future.
