A 15-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man have been arrested and are facing numerous charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation that started in Durham Region.
Durham Regional Police say they began the investigation on Nov. 18 at an Oshawa Hotel where a 16-year-old girl was being trafficked for sexual services within the GTA.
Nicholas Hill, 33, from Mississauga and the teenage suspect are facing multiple charges including Trafficking in Persons Under 18 Years by Exercising Control and Advertising Another Person’s Sexual Services. Both have been held for a bail hearing.
The arrests were made with assistance from Waterloo Regional Police and Guelph Police Services.
Investigators say they want to make sure there are no additional victims and anyone with further information is being asked to come forward.
