BREAKING: Bernie Sanders endorses NDP leader Jagmeet Singh

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh received a major endorsement with the election just two days away from ex-US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

In a post on Twitter on Friday morning, Sanders called Singh a courageous leader who would “make the wealthy pay.” The endorsement came a day after Liberal leader Justin Trudeau received an endorsement from former US President Barack Obama - as did Former first lady Hillary Clinton, who also tweeted out her support for Trudeau Friday: "I have seen my friend Justin Trudeau show leadership in the fight for accessible child care, protected reproductive rights, and ambitious climate action," she wrote.

"Canada goes to the polls Monday. There's one party that stood up for working people in the pandemic. One leader who has the courage to make the wealthy pay their fair share so everyone gets the medication they need. That's why I support the @NDP

and @theJagmeetSingh," wrote the Vermont Senator over Twitter.

Sanders thanked Bernie for his support for the NDP party in a response tweet:

"Bernie, you have fought courageously for public health care, affordable medication, making the rich pay their fair share, and tackling the climate crisis. We’re doing the same here. Canada, better is possible. But, you have to vote for it!," responded Singh.

Singh still lags behind Trudeau’s Liberals and Erin O’Toole’s Conservatives, who are currently locked in a dead heat. Using a dice metaphor, 338Canada presently gives the Liberals a minority 3 times out of 6, a majority one roll out of 6, while giving the Conservatives a minority 2 times out of 6.
