The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour has been seeing major success, so GGPoker is upping the ante by hosting the UK Poker Championships (UKPC) in conjunction with poker club and event stager Dusk Till Dawn in January.
Dusk Till Dawn

On Monday, GGPoker announced its sponsorship deal with the UK’s Dusk Till Dawn poker venue in Nottingham, which will host the 2021 UK Poker Championships from January 11-16. The main event will be a £560 Texas Hold’em tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of £500,000, and GGPoker has added another £50,000 in prizes to sweeten the deal for those who make it through their qualifying rounds. Although there has been no confirmation, it is possible that GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu may make an appearance at the venue.

Plenty of Chances to Grab a Seat

Beginning on Monday, GGPoker started hosting its UKPC Day Dollar Qualifier satellites with a single seat to the Main Event guaranteed in each one, and up to 60 tickets able to be won. Weekly $80 Super Satellites providing no fewer than eight tickets to the Main Event will begin on October 26, taking place each Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in the player’s local time. Additional qualifying events will be added ahead of the tournament in January. Participants will take part online in Day 1 on either Saturday, January 7, or Thursday, January 12, and the top 15% of the field will proceed to the live Day 2 at Dusk Till Dawn. Those who wish to enter the Main Event directly can do so through GGPoker, while a free pass to another UKPC event will be given away. All players qualifying for the Main Event through a GGPoker online Day 1 tourney will also receive a seat in the UKPC Aftermath £25,000 (US$28,337) freeroll.

GGPoker is gaining ground with an event that offers £25,000 worth of prizes in cash and merchandise for its winners.

GGPoker Gaining Ground

GGPoker is on the rise as it seeks to take on major poker platforms like PokerStars. With a strong presence in the market and increasing strategic collaborations, the company has just launched the “Road to World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE)” series, thereby furthering its brand recognition. The series provides players with the chance to directly qualify for the US$10,183 2022 WSOP Europe Main Event, with a US$4.92 million guarantee. The festival, taking place at the King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic from October 26 to November 16, will feature 15 gold bracelet events with an expected entries exceeding 9,210 from last year’s championships. In the lead-up to the WSOPE, GGPoker’s satellites offer tournaments ranging between €250 (US$246) to higher buy-ins.

At GGPoker, buy-ins for step satellites have a starting cost of €25 (equivalent to US$24.60). Through these satellites, players have the opportunity to earn their seat in the Main Event. GGPoker has yet to offer services in the United States; however, it still provides Canadians, Europeans, and Asians with the chance to battle for a deep run in the series.
